The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has begun a bridge rehabilitation project on the Oxford Dam bridge on NC Highway 16 South.
The project includes structural repairs, a new surface, and sandblasting the bridge railings. To minimize traffic disruptions, all work will be performed at night.
Construction is expected to be completed in early September.
Once work on the Oxford Dam bridge is finished, the contractor will begin a similar rehabilitation project on the NC Highway 127 bridge. A timeline for that project has not yet been announced.
