One person was killed this morning when a tractor-trailer rig and a tow truck collided on U.S. 64 just east of Taylorville.
The crash was reported around 10:00 am near the intersection of U.S. 64 and Adams Pond Lane. The Highway as of 12:30 pm, remains closed from Adams Pond Lane to Millersville Road.
In addition to the fatality, one victim was airlifted to a regional medical facility.
The NC Highway Patrol in charge of the investigation.
