A man has been charged in connection with a Taylorsville shooting incident.
On Friday, Taylorsville Police arrested 20-year old Caeson Shayne Cannon of Duncan Hill Lane in Taylorsville. Cannon is charged with felony discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle, felony obstruction of justice and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Cannon is a former Newton resident.The charges stem from a reported shooting on Thursday, June 9th in the parking lot of the Food Lion store in west Taylorsville.
Video from the store revealed a black pickup and a red sedan involved in the incident. Shell casings and broken glass were recovered in the parking lot.
Later in the evening on June 9th, Cannon contacted Taylorsville Police identifying himself as the driver of the truck. He denied firing a weapon but told investigators he had gone to the parking lot for the purpose of drug deal.
The red Chevrolet sedan has not been located but was captured on video shortly after the shooting incident at other locations in Taylorsville.
Cannon is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $200,000 and is scheduled to make a court appearance on June 27th in Alexander County District Court.
