Stoney Scott Greene, age 46, was charged on Monday and released on bond.
Warrants were sworn by two different females, his wife and stepdaughter. Both incidents allegedly happened on Saturday, April 27th.
Greene was asked by fellow members in a 4-1 vote, to resign due to “distractions” during the April 16th meeting of the Wilkes County Board of Commissioners. All five members of the board are Republican, including Greene. The lone opposing vote was Greene’s. At issue is a report that surfaced indicating Greene attended a New Jersey dogfight in 2001. Greene has not denied he attended the dogfight but says the charges were dropped. Greene, in the third year of his first term as a commissioner, was defeated in the Republican Primary for an N.C. House seat in March.
