A Taylorsville woman entered a guilty plea to a 2016 murder on Monday in Catawba County.
21-year-old Tina Louise Swink was sentenced to 18-22 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and larceny of a motor vehicle. She will also have to pay more than $5,000 in restitution to the victim’s sister.On October 31st, 2016, Tina Swink broke into her aunt Patricia Swink’s home in Hickory with her son, Micky Swink. The two had plans to rob Patricia Swink of pills and cash. Micky Swink stabbed Patricia Swink to death. He pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in Catawba County Superior Court in July 2017. Micky Swink was given a life sentence without parole.
Micky and Tina Swink stole Patricia Swink’s car which was later found in the same neighborhood where the murder took place.
Another co-defendant in the case, Richard Deal, is charged with accessory after the fact. He is due in Catawba County Superior Court on May 6.
