Joseph Carroll Matthews, age 44 of Taylorsville, was placed in custody on Tuesday for failure to appear. He missed at least one court appearance on charges dating back to February for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Matthews is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $20,000 with his next court date on Monday, June 5th.
