** Power Outage Along Highway 16 South **

More than a thousand Duke Energy Customers are without service at this hour South of Taylorsville along Highway 16. Included in the outage is the former Wittenburg Elementary School location which now houses some County Offices. Emergency Management Director, Russell Greene says that phones are not working at that location and minimum staff will be at the site until power is restored. Offices affected include Planning, Inspections, Environmental Health, Engineering, and Parks & Recreation, as well as Greenway Public Transportation.
