34-year old Jeffrey Allen Lane of North Wilkesboro was arrested Tuesday evening after being tased by officers.
A North Wilkesboro Police Officer attempted to stop Lane’s vehicle on Highway 421 around 10pm on Tuesday. The suspect vehicle led officers on a pursuit that covered several miles before running off the roadway near Welcome Home Church Road and Boone Trail, striking a mailbox and damaging a lawn.
Police gave commands for Lane to exit the vehicle but he instead crawled into the back of the vehicle and would not exit. That’s when a taser was deployed.

Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine,
Felony Possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II substance,
Felony Maintain a vehicle for a Controlled Substance,
Felony Flee/Elude Arrest with a motor vehicle,
Simple Possession of Marijuana,
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,
Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia,
Resist Public Officer,
Injury to personal property,
Injury to Real Property,
Driving while license revoked,
Speeding 70mph in a 35mph zone,
Speeding 70mph in a 45mph zone,
Aggressive Driving,
Drive Left of Center,
Fail to stop at a steady red light,
Fail to maintain lane control,
Unsafe Tires,
Fail to wear a seat belt,
Display a white light on rear of a motor vehicle
Lane is being held in the Wilkes County Detention Center under a secured bond of $150,000.
The NC Highway Patrol assisted in the pursuit and arrest.
