Newton Woman Charged With Death By Distribution

A Newton woman has been charged with felony death by distribution.

31-year old Sandi Mari Glass was charged on Wednesday by Hickory Police. Glass is being held without bond in the Catawba County Detention Center.

Glass is alleged to have supplied the drugs that led to the overdose death of 30-year-old Crystal Carol McMillan. McMillan died at the Catawba County Detention Center on July 10, 2023. An autopsy showed McMillan died from a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine toxicity. Glass was also an inmate at the time.
