The Millersville Christian Academy is closed today due to a possible explosive device found at a residence nearby.
Alexander County Sheriff Chad Pennell says deputies began an investigation Sunday at a residence adjacent to the campus south of Taylorsville. Pennell says a suspicious device was located as part of the investigation into stolen property. The school was made aware of the finding on Sunday.
The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad is on the scene and is attempting to identify the item. It does not appear the investigation has any impact on the school other the physical location of the suspect residence.
