Hiddenite Man Charged With Murder, Search Underway For Second Suspect

According to a press release from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office:

On Monday, March 25th, at around 1:30 am Alexander County 911 received a call of a shooting at 295 Old Mountain Village Dr in Hiddenite. Deputies arrived and secured the scene to find one victim with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, Taylorsville Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of investigation, Alexander County EMS, and Hiddenite Fire Department all responded to the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim is identified as Pang Vueyee, age 33 of Newton. Vueyee had been staying at 295 Old Mountain Village Dr in Hiddenite.

Officers conducted a search warrant at 295 Old Mountain Village Dr in Hiddenite. After the search, Jason Henry Fidler, age 46 of Hiddenite, was charged with murder.

Fidler is being held at the Alexander County Detention under No Bond with a first appearance of April 1st.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has also charged Karla Breanna Freeland, age 18 of Iredell County, with Murder. Karla Freeland was last seen on foot near the Alexander and Iredell County line.

Freeland’s hair color is currently red or pink. She was last seen wearing a white zip up hoodie.

Crimestoppers of Alexander County is offering a reward for information that would lead to the arrest of Karla Freeland.
