Hickory Police Charge Man After Vehicle Chase

A Newton man is facing charges after a vehicle chase earlier today.

38-year old Major Levi Chislom Jr was taken into custody Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon on a government employee, reckless driving to endanger, possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to stop after hit and run, injury to personal property, resisting a public officer, driving left of center, and failure to stop at a red light.

Chislom is being held without bond in the Catawba County Detention Center.
