Hickory Man Charged With Assaulting Government Employees

Montavious Quamae Sims, age 30 of Hickory, was arrested Friday by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. He’s charged with reckless driving to endanger, two counts of assault on a government official and resisting arrest. He was also served a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of simple assault. Sims is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $23,500. A Monday court appearance is scheduled in Newton.

Sims has previous charges pending that include felony possession of a stolen firearm, second-degree trespass, injury to personal property and possession of marijuana.
