Cougar Hoops Roll Over St Stephens

Alexander Central’s Varsity Basketball Teams swept St Stephens in games played Friday in Taylorsville.

Women

Alexander Central 48
St Stephens 34

The Lady Cougars picked up their second win of the season, the same way they won their first, by beating St Stephens. AC trailed 21-14m at the half but dominated the second half 34-13 over the visitors. Nikki Hagy had 15 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Gracie Harrington contributed 14 points and Teagan Pennell had 13. With the win the Lady Cougars are 2-18 on the season and 1-9 in conference play.

Men

St Stephens 51

AC jumped out to a seven point lead after the first quarter and cruised to the win. Jem Lowrance continued his stellar play with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Evan Presnell had 14. With the win the Cougars are 14-6 overall and 7-3 in the Northwestern Conference.
