Catawba County Man Jailed Under $750,000 Bond After Missing Court Dates

31-year-old Nathaniel Paul Webb of Maiden was arrested last Thursday, April 11th by Probation & Parole Officers. He’s charged with failure to appear on counts of first-degree rape, attempted first-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, common law robbery, assault with physical injury on a law enforcement, probation or parole officer, and felony probation violation.

Webb is on probation after serving a sentence of close to three months in 2023 for a felony count of assault with physical injury on a law enforcement officer, or detention center employee. The crime was committed in 2014, he was sentenced to the jail term due to a probation revocation, according to the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections Offender Public Information website. He is also listed as an absconder from probation and parole supervision.

Following last week’s arrest, Webb was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $750,000 bond. A Superior Court date is scheduled for May 23.
