Catawba County Couple Charged With Armed Robbery

A man and a woman from Catawba County have been charged in connection to an armed robbery at a business in Lincolnton.

Reginald Lee Forney, age 53, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of firearm by felon and the misdemeanor offense of assault by pointing a gun. 38-year old Misty Nicole Hayes is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Forney is being held in the Lincoln County Jail with a bond set at $160,000. Hayes is in custody with a bond of $10,000

Investigators say the couple took a cash register from a Family Dollar Store on East Main Street in Lincolnton on January 19th.

Forney entered the store armed with a rifle while Hayes drove the getaway vehicle.
