Alexander County Unemployment Shows Slight Increase In Latest Report

Unemployment increased in Alexander County in November. The rate of joblessness was 3.5 percent up from 3.4 in October.

According to figures from the NC Department of Commerce

Wilkes County was listed at 3.6 down from 3.7
Caldwell County 3.4 up from 3.3
Catawba County 3.3 up from 3.2
Iredell County 3.2 unchanged

Statewide the rate was 3.4 percent up from 3.3

In November 39 North Carolina Counties saw unemployment increase, 17 counties had a decrease and 44 were unchanged.

Highest rate of unemployment in November was Scotland County at 5.9 percent. The Lowest rate was Buncombe and Swain at 2.6.
