James Lee Weaver, age 46 of Hiddenite was arrested and charged with Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine, Felony Trafficking Heroin, Felony Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance, Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Xanax), Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone), Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance (Suboxone), and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Weaver is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond with a first appearance date of Monday, June 13, 2022 in Alexander County District Court.
The Sheriff’s Office seized a variety of narcotics from the scene, including 1,043 grams of fentanyl and 1,185 grams of methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Bowman would like to thank Taylorsville Police Department, Alexander County EMS, Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations Taskforce for their assistance in this investigation.
Bowman stated: “This operation will greatly impact the distribution of narcotics in Alexander County, as well as surrounding counties.”
