21 county citizens are hospitalized up from 14 on Friday
Alexander County has a test positivity rate of 16 percent compared to the state average of 11 percent
40 percent of the county citizens have received 1 dose of the vaccine
37 percent of the county citizens are fully vaccinated

At this time the Alexander County Health Department is scheduling appointments for the Pfizer vaccine for persons age 12 and older and the Moderna vaccine for persons age 18 and older. The Health Department is also providing third-doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to fully vaccinated persons who are moderately to severely immunocompromised according to CDC guidelines. For those who are interested in a booster and are not immunocompromised, the current indication is that those may begin sometime in the fall and that patients could become eligible on/after the 8-month anniversary of their second vaccine dose.
