Alexander County Health Department Confirms COVID-19 Associated Death In Last Seven Days

January 26, 2023 By Richard C. Gilbert

There has been an additional death reported since the previous update by the Alexander County Health Department and there is currently one citizen hospitalized.

Like some areas of North Carolina, CDC considers Alexander County to be a low transmission area for Covid-19 at this time. Please remember to wash your hands frequently; get tested if you develop symptoms or are a close contact of someone who has developed symptoms; stay home for at least 5 days and wear a mask around others for 10 days if you test positive; wear a well-fitting mask indoors when transmission rates are high; and get/stay up-to-date on your eligible Covid-19 vaccination doses in order to help continue reducing the virus’ spread. Learn more about CDC recommendations for our area transmission level at https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/?fbclid=IwAR23aiQEQViBRpMSilQDlF7UgD04hzPcHaHacuErlSCnwzC65jJXRTybyq8#county-view?list_select_state=North+Carolina&data-type=CommunityLevels&null=CommunityLevels&list_select_county=37003.
