Alexander County Deputies Arrest Two Men In The Act

Two men are facing charges following their arrest on Tuesday, May 13th.

Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies captured the duo at an abandoned home off Millerville Road. 42-year old Lonnie Jay Owens II of Taylorsville is charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering. He remains in the Alexander County Detention Center as of earlier today with a secured bond of $15,000.

Owens has several pending charges that include, misdemeanor larceny, second-degree trespass, multiple probation violations, possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with license revoked.

His next court date is June 26th in addition to appearances scheduled for July 10th, August 1st and September 5th.

29-year old Jason Edward Sweet is charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny. He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $15,000. Sweet has an initial court appearance on June 26th.
