Alexander Central High School Senior Nathaniel (Nate) Alexander applied for the vacant seat recently filled on the Board of Education. Although he was not eligible to serve due to the age requirement of 21, he was recognized for his initiative and desire to serve.
Board Chairman David Odom commended the student, invited him to sit in the board chairman’s seat during the presentation. “Don’t let the statute be a stumbling block; let your courage be a steppingstone,” stated Odom. “The most rewarding thing you can do is be a public servant.”
The recognition ended with a group photo of the board members, Superintendent Dr. Hefner, and Nate.
