Marty Pennell, Ronnie Reese, and Larry Yoder took the oath of office on Monday, December 3rd as newly-elected members of the Alexander County Board of Commissioners. Judge Dale Graham administered the swearing-in ceremony at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners.
Also, three people were honored with a “Key to the County” at the meeting. Ben Hines, outgoing Register of Deeds, was recognized for his 32 years of service to the county. Outgoing commissioners Milton Campbell and Josh Lail were also recognized for their four years of service on the board.
Commissioners elected Dr. Jeff Peal as chairman and Ronnie Reese as vice chairman of the Board of Commissioners. They will assume these roles in January.

The 2019 meeting schedule includes the following dates: January 7, February 4, March 11, April 1 & 15, May 6 & 20, June 3 & 17, July 22, August 5, September 9, October 7, November 4, and December 2. Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. in room #103 at the CVCC Alexander Center for Education. The public is invited to attend.
