32-year old Brittany Calloway Hemric of Hamptonville, is listed as a teacher at Wilkes Central High School. She was taken into custody on Tuesday, January 9th by the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office.
An incident allegedly involved Hemrick and a student at Wilkes Central High School. Hemric was suspended from her duties on January 5th.
Hemric is free from custody under a bond of $10,000. She made a court appearance on Wednesday. Her next court date is January 20th.
Wilkes County Schools released a statement this morning “Wilkes County Schools has worked closely with law enforcement in the investigation of the alleged conduct of the employee in question…. We will continue to assist law enforcement and other authorities in the investigation of this matter and will take further action as warranted by the results of this investigation and the disposition of the pending criminal charges.”
