A man was found deceased below his deer hunting stand in the vicinity of McCarter Road in southeastern Wilkes County Monday morning.
A Wilkes Emergency Medical Services spokesman said Bobby Ray Benge, 71, of Hoots Road, Ronda, left home to retrieve his deer stand from the tree late Sunday afternoon. He never returned.
A friend searching, found him deceased on the ground. No foul play is suspected.
