Two Bodies Found Under Wilkes County Bridge…Updated

Wilkesboro Police are investigating the deaths of two people who were found dead under a bridge on Sunday.

According to police, the victims are a male and a female, both in their 30s.

Investigators say the deaths were the result of “felonious hit-and-run crash,” that happened “sometime in the recent past.” Police believe a vehicle hit the two victims as they were walking on the Yadkin River bridge on Curtis Bridge Road. The two victims were knocked off the bridge and fell onto a grassy area near the Yadkin River.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Update

The victims have been identified as Stephanie Lynn Chahoy, 40, and Chase Eugene Crawford, 35, both of North Wilkesboro. Autopsies are being performed.
