Two teens are in custody following a home invasion in Alexander County over the weekend.
According to Sheriff Chris Bowman, two 18-year old males and a 17 year-old juvenile male entered a home on Gravel Hill Road Saturday around 10:30 pm. Bowman says they had gone to the residence to conduct a drug deal.
The owner of the property chased the trio from the home into their car. The homeowner fired multiple shots at the vehicle striking it at least three times. A number of shell casings were recovered from the scene.
The teens fled the area but were spotted on Crowson Road (off Rink Dam Road) a short time later and taken into custody Sheriff’s Deputies.
18-year old Zachariah Canterbury of Taylorsville is charged with felony common law robbery, and felony 1st degree burglary. He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $100,000. 18-year old Christopher Dalton Whorley of Seminole, Florida is charged with felony common law robbery and felony 1st degree burglary. He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $100,000.Charges are pending against a 17-year old male juvenile who was part of the home invasion as well as a juvenile who lived at the residence on Gravel Hill Road.
Sheriff Bowman say the investigation is ongoing.
