On Saturday, June 27th, at approximately 1:10 a.m. officers with the Taylorsville Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of West Main Avenue after observing a vehicle being operated without insurance.
During the stop, officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a firearm, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, an open container of alcohol, suspected controlled substance pills, and multiple extended and drum style magazines loaded with 10mm ammunition.

* Aiding and Abetting Driving While License Revoked
Both individuals were issued no bond and remained in custody following their arrests. At the time of this incident, Bennett was reportedly out on pretrial release for prior weapons related charges, and Green was reportedly out on pretrial release for prior charges of Driving While Impaired and Resisting a Public Officer.
