Taylorsville Police Arrest Florida Fugitive

A Florida woman was arrested in Alexander County on Wednesday. Taylorsville Police were alerted by authorities in Martin County Florida that a wanted fugitive from Hutchinson Island, Florida was thought to be in the Taylorsville area. She was wanted for two counts of grand theft and depositing with intent to defraud.

TPD learned the female was likely at a location on Galaxy Drive. Officers arrived at the location mentioned and located 37-year old Jamie Lee Mawhorter. She was taken into custody without incident. Mawhorter is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $250,000.
