Taylorsville Man Jailed For Violation Of Sex-Offender Status

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year old Robert Jonathan Buchanan of Taylorsville on Monday and charged him with failure to notify law enforcement of an address change as a registered sex-offender. Buchanan has the same sex-offender violations pending in neighboring Iredell and Catawba Counties. He was also served an arrest warrant on Monday for failure to appear on a charge of driving with license revoked.

Buchanan was convicted in 2008 for indecent liberties with a minor.

As of this morning, Buchanan remained in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $14,000. A November, 22nd court date is scheduled in Taylorsville.
