Taylorsville Man Facing List Of Felony Drug And Weapons Charges

Jason Lee Banes, 46 of Taylorsville, was arrested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday. He has been charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling or place for controlled substance, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Barnes has previous charges in Alexander County that are pending. Those charges include unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, injury to personal property and probation violation. A larceny charge is also awaiting trial in Caldwell County.

A secured bond of $105,000 dollars is listed and as of earlier today, Barnes remained in the Alexander County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in district court in Taylorsville on Monday, July 1st.
