Taylorsville Man Cited For Contempt Of Court

32-year old Mathew Douglas Roop of Taylorsville was cited for contempt of court on Tuesday during a session of Alexander County Superior Court. As previously reported, Roop was arrested on April 17th and charged with with felony possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was still in custody when he allegedly contacted a person with whom there was a domestic violence protection order in place. That violation raised his previous bond or $5,000 to $85,000 secured. A May 8th court date is scheduled in Alexander County District Court.
