Taylorsville Man Jailed And Held Under Large Bond

A Taylorsville man was taken into custody on Sunday after missing a court dates for common law robbery.

Matthew James Hinkson, age 51, was arrested by the Hickory Police Department. He’s being held in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $100,000. A Tuesday, December 19th court appearance is scheduled in Newton.

Hinkson has pending charges in Alexander County for simple assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A January 8th court date is set on those charges.
