Corey Alexander Cook
As WHKY previously reported, the victims were 60-year-old Johnny Bryan Cook, 51-year-old Angela Duncan Cook, and 27-year-old John Lawrence Thomas Cook. Their bodies were discovered by firefighters responding to a house fire at the family’s home on Loram Drive near Troutman on July 27, 2021. Earlier court testimony indicated all three victims had been shot and had their throats cut.
The case was investigated by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Judge Michael Duncan sentenced Cook to three consecutive prison terms of 300 to 372 months for the murders, followed by 64 to 89 months for arson. The identity theft charges were consolidated into the final judgment.
