On Wednesday, October 7, an Iredell County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a vehicle driving on Highway 64-90 near the Iredell & Alexander County Line. The vehicle was being driven by 39-year old Tara Sha Barnes. From earlier interactions with Barnes, the Deputy knew her driver’s license was suspended. A vehicle stop was conducted. After a search, six ounces of methamphetamine was located.
Barnes was arrested on scene, and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where she was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked.. Barnes also had an outstanding warrant for a previous Driving While License Revoked charge.
Bond was set at $31,000.
