Stony Point Man Held In Catawba County Custody

An Alexander County man was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center on Wednesday.

33-year old Cory Elijah Moretz of Stony Point is charged with felony possession of stolen goods, flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving to endanger, and driving with license revoked. Bond was set at $25,000. A Thursday, June 17th court date is scheduled in Newton.

Moretz has a long list of charges pending in Catawba and Iredell Counties. The charges include felony possession with intent to sell/deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and felony possession of stolen goods.
