Shopping Spree Didn’t Turn Out Well For Taylorsville Couple

June 29, 2026 By Richard C. Gilbert

A smile would be nice

A man and woman forgot that chances are better than good, you’ll show up on surveillance video if you decide to take items from a retail business.

On Sunday, Taylorsville Police released photos of the duo going on a shopping spree at the Taylorsville WalMart store. Shopping yes, paying for the items, No !

It didn’t take long for members of the community to respond by offering their identity after the photos appeared on this website and multiple social media accounts.

Jerry Norman Robinette

51-year-old Jerry Norman Robinette of Crowson RD., Taylorsville is charged with larceny, driving with license revoked and resisting arrest.

Diana Halloway Bearfield

57-year-old Diana Halloway Bearfield of the same Taylorsville address is charged with multiple counts of larceny and resisting arrest.

The would-be “Bonnie and Clyde” couple were later arrested by Taylorsville Police and the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. Officers had to use forced-entry as the not-so-dynamic duo refused to come to the door.

They are being held in the Alexander County Jail as of this report.
