Newton Police Charge Man With Multiple Child-Sex Offenses

A Lincolnton man is facing child sex charges in Catawba County.

49-year old Michael Anthony Myers was arrested Wednesday by Newton Police. He’s charged with multiple counts of felony statutory sex offense with a child 15 or younger, felony incest, felony sex act by a substitute parent/custodian, and indecent liberties with a child. Myers remains in the Catawba County Detention Center as of Thursday morning. His bond is listed at $120,000. A first appearance in court is set for today.
