Morganton Man Killed In Sunday Crash

A Burke County resident was killed in a Sunday evening crash. The deceased is 25-year-old Myrian Dashea Reid of Morganton.

On Sunday (July 31) at approximately 6:40 p.m., Highway Patrol responded to N.C. 181 near Frank Whisnant Road. A 1995 Cadillac DeVille was traveling south on NC 181, crossed the centerline, and collided with a northbound 2021 Toyota SUV.

The driver of the Cadillac, Myrian Dashea Reid, was transported from the scene by EMS but passed away while en route to the hospital. The driver and passenger of the Toyota, both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, were transported by EMS to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
