Alexander County Woman Already Charged With Statutory Rape Now Charged With Kidnapping

An Alexander County woman already facing a list of felony charges including statutory rape has now been charged with kidnapping. Kira Leanne Boyd, age 43 of Linneys Mtn Road, Union Grove, was arrested on April 8th by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. She was charged at that time with felony statutory rape of a child 15 or younger, felony indecent liberties with a child, felony statutory sex offense with a person who is 13,14 or 15 years old and misdemeanor contributing to delinquency of a juvenile. On Friday, a felony charge of first degree kidnapping was filed as result of the ongoing investigation.

Boyd remains in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $1 million.
