A man died after a crash involving a tractor on Old 60 in Wilkes County Wednesday.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said a John Deere tractor was traveling east on Old 60 with a plow attachment in the back and was over the center lin A 1997 Chevrolet S-10 that was traveling west struck the tractor.
The driver, 70-year old Johnny Wayne Cleary, died at the scene, troopers said. A passenger in the Chevrolet was injured and taken to a hospital.
Troopers said they will be in consultation with the Wilkes County District Attorney’s Office concerning any charges.
