A fatal crash on Interstate 40 in Iredell County on Tuesday.
67-year old Rodney Forner of Virginia was driving west on I-40 near Stamey Farm Road when his vehicle ran off the highway to the right and struck a tree according to the NC Highway Patrol. Forner was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
The westbound lanes of I-40 were closed for about three hours.
