The Taylorsville Police Department responded to a report of a male subject standing in the middle of Highway 16 near the WalMart Store on Saturday, December 12th. Officers located 49-year old Jeffrey Ray Minton on the busy highway. Minton was taken into custody and charged with impeding traffic. He was also cited for resisting arrest. Minton was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $5,500. As of this morning, Minton remains in jail.
