46-year old Randy Autry Stanley was arrested by the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office following an incident on Saturday at a location off Austin-Traphill Road. Deputies were called to the residence around midnight in reference to a disturbance. Stanley had allegedly pointed a firearm at multiple victims in the residence but the firearm was taken away from him by one of the victims. Investigators say Stanley obtained another firearm and pointed it at the victims again before taking cash and leaving the scene in a stolen vehicle.
Stanley was located by Deputies and arrested around 4am Sunday. The charges include attempted murder as the result of Stanley pulling the trigger more than once. The weapon was not loaded. He’s also charged with assault by pointing a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of firearm by felon, safe cracking and a failure to appear warrant. The suspect is being held in the Wilkes County Detention Center.
