Man Charged With Assaulting Officers

A Hickory man has been charged with assaulting law enforcement officers.

28-year-old Jordan Lee Kennedy was arrested by Hickory Police on Sunday evening. He was charged with two felony counts of assault on a law enforcement officer inflicting serious injury, along with one misdemeanor count each of impeding traffic and resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer. The arrest report indicates Kennedy assaulted officers as they attempted to remove him from the roadway in the 400 block of US Highway 70. Hickory Police Officers deployed tasers according to the arrest report.

Kennedy was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $50,0000.
