Lights Go Out In Taylorsville

June 10, 2022 By Richard C. Gilbert

Just shy of 2,000 Duke Energy customers lost service on Thursday when a car clipped a utility pole on Main Street in Tylorsville.

The crash was reported shortly after the noon hour. A BMW sedan struck a pole at the Taylorsville Auto Mart. Four cars on the lot were damaged in addition to the vehicle driven by 52-year old Robert Curtis Chatham of Taylorsville. Chatham suffered no major injuries and was cited by Taylorsville Police for failure to maintain lane control.

Most Duke Energy customers had service restored by 2 pm.
