Mocksville: The Lady Cougars remained undefeated thanks to a fast start against Davie County. AC led17-12 after the first quarter and 28-20 at half. In the third quarter the lead had bulged to as many as 23. The home team rallied to make the score a bit closer than the game appeared to be. The scoring was led by Meredith Wike and Malayah Adams with 15 each. Wike collected 10 rebounds. Emmie Burris topped the scoring for Davie with 13. The War Eagles fall to 1-2 while Alexander Central is 4-0.

Down 45-33,at half, the visiting Cougars could never recover. The War Eagles never trailed and dominated the paint outscoring AC 56-20. Davie’s bench was big as well with 30 points compared to the Blue and Gold’s 10. Noah VanBeurden was the top scorer for ACHS with 24 including 5 three-point baskets. Jahmir Miller pitched-in 16 and Kade Flowers contributed 11. Davie’s Nah Duling was the game’s top scorer with 25. Davie County is 3-0 while ACHS drops to 2-1.
