Arson Charge Filed Against Catawba County Man

Clayton McKinley Ward, age 29, Evening Drive, Claremont, was arrested Sunday by Claremont Police. He is charged with felony second-degree arson. According to a warrant filed by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office filed on Thursday, September 24th, the suspect set fire to a residence located on J&R Queen RD., Catawba. Ward is being held without bond.

The suspect was arrested by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office on August 11th and charged with felony breaking and entering.
