Iredell Man Charged With Kidnapping And Sexual Assault

An Iredell County Man has been charged with kidnapping and sexual assault.

Last October, a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office by a female who stated she had being sexually assaulted. The victim stated to investigators she had been held against her will, then repeatedly sexually assaulted, given drugs, and physically assaulted at a location in Eastern Iredell County. Detective C. James investigated the case according to a release from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Akura Laquan Rickett

A suspect identified as 40-year old Akura Laquan Rickett of Mooresville was arrested on April 27th. He is charged Felony Degree Kidnapping, Felony Human Trafficking, Felony Sexual Servitude, Six Counts of Felony Assault by Strangulation, Three Counts of Felony Sell or Deliver Controlled Substance, and Felony Habitual Misdemeanor Assault. He is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $500,000.
