
Jarrell Tyshon Powell
33-year-old Jarrell Tyshon Powell was sentenced to seven to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon on Monday, March 9.
The sentence was handed down by Superior Court Judge Nathaniel J. Poovey on the day Powell’s case was scheduled to go to trial.
According to court records, Powell and a co-defendant robbed a tattoo artist on June 20, 2024, stealing more than $6,000 worth of equipment, supplies, and cash.
The case was investigated by Benjamin Rogers with the Hickory Police Department. Assistant District Attorney Kyle Smith prosecuted the case for the state with assistance from Legal Assistant Stacey London.
